Get a Fall Guy, Or get a reality check.

All situations and circumstances don’t fit inside the same box. Lets not look at the words that are always said however in the context and frame to which they apply. Chris Carter is a highly decorated Sports Analyst and NFL hall of famer. However lets not ignore the fact that he is an American who so happens to be black born and raised in one of the most depressed areas of these United States. Lets also not forget that He overcame his addictions and has continued to shape and reshape his community while building new ones. The wisdom that is Surviving in America as a prospective success black man is almost criminal. And the entire quote should read, …”Just in case you decided your not going to do the right thing, I might suggest you have a fall guy.” Think about how many things as a prominent Athlete young adult who just recently had a great infusion of cash. Doing the right thing is probably hard enough being a young millionaire or imagines that after being broke your whole life and finally being able to have a good time on your own dollar. Some people writers choose to never understand and will vilify and sensationalize someone’s words without ever looking at the source and place at which they come from. Get a fall guy is probably so out of text to the root of what he is really saying as a celebrity/athlete or person of stature with money. Now more then ever when problems arise and they will if your young black wild and semi free problems will occur. Wiz Kahlkifa can tell you all about just rolling around the airport. Chris Carter was speaking a truth to men who come from communities historically they have been persecuted justly and unjustly. And Like his choice words or not the reality of it is you have to respect the source and he can attest to trouble arising and being in the wrong place with the right people. The task force that investigate professional athletes alone is well and thriving just like the hip hop police and the FBI its all the same group monitoring your behavior criminalizing your activities and sometimes accordingly. However this world isn’t perfect and surviving it and overcoming your own short sites and indiscretions is a part of growing up. Unfortunately its harder to do when your in the spotlight and under a microscope for every Manziel Johnny football, type thing. You can’t even eat a meal with other prominent human beings Dez Bryant Deion Sanders so on and so. You can’t even change you mind on a contract without kneeling and kissing the ring DE André Jordan, Mark Cuban, its an imperfect world full of radical things.

#QBPunch

In national sports news Geno Smith was punched in the face by Ike Enempali last Tuesday morning and suffered a broken jaw. National Sports Media couldn’t wait to take additional shots at Geno’s Character, Leadership and overall level of respect of his teammates. But lets cut the None-sense football fanatics ex players, coaches and football guru wannabee’s. Enempali was way out of line and by no means am I condoning violence…. however I can think of at least 20 quarterback’s I think probably deserve a good punch in the face or two. I’m only going to give you my top five quarterbacks I would jokingly like to see get punched in the face. Old News over and done with but lets get it out the way Mike Vick…. yeah lets marinate on that for a second…okay Tim Tebow…oh come on disregard his beliefs and faith the guy has had more opportunities then any scrambling quarterback in NFL history. Denver Broncos, New York Jets, New England Patriots and now the Philadelphia Eagles can you say give it up. Jay Cutler, Mr Pick six themselves however lets be honest he’s one of the most overpaid under achievers in the game. “ Not to mention ex teammate Lance Brigs said he thought about it on a few occasions. Tom Brady…besides deflating balls, spy-gate and being blessed with an outstandingly gorgeous wife successful career its hard to root for a guy who seams to have met zero adversity and challenges in life. Okay I’m exaggerating but if your not a pats fan its kind of hard to like this guy or have any sympathy for him when something bad finally does happen to him. #1 one on my list is Peyton Natural bobble head Manning. That’s right Mr. Overrated himself. Despite all the Touchdowns, hot reads, audible Peyton manning gets way to much credit and praise for being a football genius. Last I checked 5 year olds are playing football and reading a defense and changing a play in the huddle is something quarterbacks have been doing since the pro game took form. Its only in recent years control fanatic coaches have systematically allowed quarterbacks the freedoms that for decades quarterbacks like Ken Stabler, Willie Beamen and the first true goat Johnny Unitas. Obviously I’m joking I would never truly wish any of these guys with the exception of maybe Tom Brady and Tim Tebow however those guys are just not very likeable to me because their so damn likeable.

Who? What ? Why Beyond The Praise Sports

Who what and why beyond the praise sports? Who is every sports fan voicing their opinion with more depth insight and perspective then the bias local cable affiliate sports channel will give you, every hour on the hour until eventually your opinion mirrors the status quo. “The quarterback won the game I mean he intercepted the pass at the goal line on 2nd and goal to shut the door on an upsetting defeat”. I mean he held the opposing teams quarterback to practically no completions in the 3rd quarter!” Seriously who wants to hear about some second rate corner back that can’t make it to meetings on time, or a rehabilitated Strong safety once suspended for violating the leagues performance enhancing statue coming back to make a game changing play in the biggest game of the season. Well I’ll tell you who, the fan, or observer who understands the game as it’s going on, the fan who probably has game time experience and or a playbook of his own creation uploaded online in his EA Sports account. The former University of know one cares guy who played some college and semi pro ball. The fan who hasn’t played since high school but understand the game better then your local cable affiliate gives you the benefit of when he’s watering down play by play with his old playbook jargon “32 spider wide split banana”, as if you’ve never been in a huddle. What is the purpose of beyond the praise? To get past the Monday morning quarterback conversation or the always said and all to often cliché of the politically correct analysis brought to you buy whom ever wrote the biggest check! The purpose is to get you some passionate incite that goes beyond the hyper sensitive watered down re-run read offs that have turned sports into the ultimate my guy sports that vaguely and shallowly covers every angle all the time with the same old rhetoric and predetermined praise. Why Beyond the Praise Sports because after a weekend football binge and a unsatisfactory performance from your favorite team you want real answers. You remember that pass dropped in the end zone that your so called inaccurate quarterback laid in under duress pitch perfectly after getting his clock cleaned and the wide out dropped. Because you remember when the defensive back clipped the wide out just before the pass sailed his way and the referee didn’t blink to throw an obvious pass interference call! Why because to you just like a quarterback at the line of scrimmage calling an audible you can read the defense just as well as you can the slanted bias basic broadcasting news that hardly resembles water cooler conversations of the die-hard football fanatic. Beyond the praise is deep like your anxiety after a heartbreak loss and, long like the flight home or walk to the house after you lost the farm on the game of a lifetime. Beyond the praise (BTPS) is about looking past the routine answers and getting into the topic from perspectives only heard from honest sports minds without the common praise. Beyond the praise is you after work on the phone with your uncle in Chicago telling them what really happened beyond the praise is the unpopular, unorthodox, not said to often yet kind of makes sense view that you sometimes find yourself thinking and saying depending on what caliber of sports guru your talking to.

A most Flagrant foul of the impact of MJ and Kobe on the NBA.

Lets take a Unorthodox Look at what Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant Represent to Basketball elite and NBA onlookers, fans reporters the entire sports community. Michael Jordan Obviously the GOAT. He is considered the most complete offensively skilled scoring assassin in the league.  Never in a lifetime would we see another player with such offensive gifts air deifying leaping ability and defensive fortitude. Along comes Kobe Bryant before Jordan could even retire. Kobe Bean Bryant also known as MJ 2.0. He certainly stole all of MJ’s moves he certainly didn’t win every championship game he played in; and he certainly is not as likable, lovable or as charismatic to the fans. Lets not mention Kobe Bryant only won 5 championships. For as great as both of these guys are they were not perfect and Jordan can hang his hat on his perfect finals appearances he can’t hang it alone Scottie Pippen has the same Claim.

MJ and Kobe of the greatest offensive players in NBA history thus far.
So what are we looking at with these two brilliant unearthly talented superior basketball Elite. The look we are taking is the Decline of the team game and the uproar and disbelief that fans and onlookers may not want to accept that these two Selfish Me Players created the ISO NBA we have today. I don’t think Jordan did it intentionally or arrogantly with as much pride as Kobe however he fathered Kobe’s style. The state of Isolation basketball and lack of team ball mentality stems from this pedigree. I am Jordan your not good enough to be trusted with this ball I am Kobe I take the last shot or any shot whenever I want.   The state of the NBA today is highly credited to MJ; and his ability to expand his game enhances his offensive weaponry season after season after season.   Every year Jordan got better and more dominant he learned to make his teammates better and piled up 6 rings to the credit of his leadership offensive excellence and defensive sacrifice and commitment. Jordan and Kobe Bryant, unlike LeBron James had a highly respectable coach and at least two other all stars every time they went to the finals. Looking back on MJ and Kobe’s Careers one thing that Jordan did that Kobe is yet to do, is acknowledge the greatness that was surrounding them less celebrated however highly necessary for them both to claim Top of the mountain of Basketballs Mount Rushmore.
